Future Simple Tense

The future simple tense is used to talk about actions that could happen or will happen in the future.

Positive: subject + will + infinitive
Negative: subject + will not + infinitive
Question: Will + subject + infinitive?

Common uses:

1. Future plans and intentions

  • I will go to the beach tomorrow.
  • She won’t go to the party tonight.
  • Will you come with me to the concert on Saturday?

2. Future predictions and assumptions

  • It will rain later this afternoon.
  • The train won’t arrive on time.
  • Will the restaurant be busy tonight?

3. Future facts and certainties

  • She will turn 18 next year.
  • I won’t forget your birthday.
  • Will they graduate from university next month?
